Two faces

They say “Opposites attract”. It is true for friends too. Two individuals with different interests can be friends.

As I entered the school gate, Hopie came running behind me, “Hi Joonie”, she said literally jumping on my backpack.

“Hi, Hopie. You came now?”, I asked because she usually reaches school earlier. “Eomma dropped me today so I did not take the bus”, she hung her hand over my shoulders as she said. We reached our classroom and took our seats.

Hopie usually sits behind me. The reason for this is she usually copies all the notes from me. She does not just get concentrated in studies but she makes sure I do study well and she completes her notes from me.”Show me it’s spelling “,she would whisper and I move just a bit on my desk and thus she copied same.

To tell about me, I like to study and know more about things in this universe and generally score good grades in all the subjects. Hopie likes art and she scores very well in drawing, sketching, and coloring.

We support and encourage each other, thus we complete each other.”Tell me which color to use?”, I would ask Hopie at the art class.

During breaks, we would plan on how to make the other one excel in the next classes by supporting each other as you know now. “Mark a ‘+’ here and a ‘-‘ here. If it is greater than zero it is a positive number and if it is less than zero we say it is a negative number. You got it?”, and Hopie would nod in understanding to my ecplaination. Later, “You need to mix pink with blue color to get a purple one. Differ the quantity of each pink and blue and here see!! It differs the lighter and darker shade of purple”, Hopie would explain to me, “You got it?” explain And I would nod to her in understanding.

It was that day when one of our classmates Mini had brought files of her projects to school. They were all stick files. She did not use one of them so she just left it on her bench while leaving after the classes. Hopie and I packed our books and stationary in our backpacks and we walked toward the classroom door. I just saw the file stick that Mini left back on her desk and took it in my hand. But Hopie too wanted to take it, so same time she too held it and pulled it to her from my hand.”I want it”,she told. I instantly tried to take it from her when she ran out of the classroom with the stick.

“Yaa!! Hajima”, I cried out to her and ran behind her

It so happened we started to try to take it from each other. “I want it”, she told and ran towards the school entrance gate and I followed her, running. She tripped over something and fell down. “Aah,” Hopie cried out and dropped the file stick. “Gwenchanna?”, I asked and helped her get up holding her by her arm.” Gwenchanna”, she replied and got up to see the file stick just broken into a few smaller pieces. We both looked at each other and burst into laughter when we realized we were quarreling over this thing!!

We may fight and we may cry, been through dramas, stupidity, secrets, experiencing fights, arguments, jealousy, tears, and laughter, it is all memories and this is LIFE!!
