Life

Minnie was a passionate singer, a 12th grader. He was on the verge of the educational milestone where his grades in school would decide his field of career.

“Study well”, his mother would tell him morning and night.

“You 12th graders! You don’t have time to waste it talking

“Study !”, their lecturers would scold them.

While on his way back home from school, Minnie met his friend Monie. Monie was a street dancer, a part timer at a nearby cafe and a 12th grader too like Minnie.

“Come, let’s get some fresh air”, Monie took Minnie to the cafe he works at and both had espresso.

“My treat”, Monie winked as he said. “Why?”, Minnie asked.

“I got an offer from my dancing school to participate in an audition”, Monie was happy.

“It’s 100 days for University entrance..”, Minnie looked concerned for Monie asking him to concentrate on studies instead. Monie just smiled, he was in another world already.

Time skipped.

Minnie studied hard for University entrance exam.

He came running towards Monie, “I got into Yonsei University”, he declared.

“Congratulations bruh! We need to celebrate”, Monie was happy too. Minnie thought Monie too got an University seat.

“I am going to US next week”, Monie announced slipping an appointment order towards Minie as they sipped the espresso.

“What?”, Monie yelled. Looking into the order copy,”Are you not joining University? What about your career?”, Monie literally yelled at Minnie.

“This is my my career”,Minnie defended.

Minnie realised Monie was living it up. He was living his life on his terms. He did not force himself to join the caravan of the society.

Minnie was narrating the success story of Monie to his students at ?University.

“There are only few secrets to staying young, being happy, and achieving success. You have to laugh and find humor everyday”. His students were inspired as he continued. “Anybody can grow older. That does not take any talent or ability. The idea is to grow up by always finding opportunities in change. Have no regrets.”, he tried to explain them to follow their passion too. Minnie continued saying “As we grow old, usually we don’t have regrets for what we did, but rather for things we did not do. It’s never too late to be all you can possibly be”, were his words to the world on his retirement day.
