“I don’t want to get up..”, Jinn was beckering when her mother asked her to wake up. It was almost 8am and stil Jinn was on her bed, covering her tiny self in her duvet. 

“You will get late for school!”, her mother literally yelling at her.

“NOOO..”, Jinn tried insisting her mother as she was almost pulled out of her bed.

Jinn got ready, had a quick breakfast and ran with her backpack to catch her school bus. She was lucky today to have got the bus, secondly that she got a seat beside her bestie.

“Again?”, Jiemin asked Jinn.

“I am not able to come out of it!”, Jinn said depressed.

“We need to find a way out”, Jiemin was concerned. Jinn scrunched her lips, her tired eyes with dark circles.

“RUN !”, their PE teacher ordered.

“I can’t!”, Jinn whispered to herself. She got this punishment to take 50 rounds of the playground for not completing her monthly assignment.

Jiemin was standing at a distance feeling pity on Jinn. She decided to talk about this with her elder sister Jaeyi who worked as a training nurse.

“We don’t know why, but she gets into trouble for each and everything at school”,Jiemin complained.

“She falls down to mess and mix all her sheets, she unknowingly spills water on somebody at cafeteria, she forgets to refill her lunch pass, she forgets her notes on the same day when she has to submit them..”, were few of the incidents Jiemin narrated.

After a long discussion, Jiemin’s sister could understand the real reason behind Jinn’s sufferings. She invited Jinn for breakfast the next day. She had prepared delicacies to treat a teenager well. On getting a call from Jiemin for nearly 5 times, Jinn arrived at their apartment.

Jaeyi did not waste much time to start the conversation while having the breakfast.

“You don’t sleep early at night?”, being asked by Jaeyi, Jinn replied, “I like to stay awake at night like an owl, so usually I get to sleep late at night”. 

“What do you do at night?”, Jaeyi showed interest.

“I watch some series, movies or listen to music”, Jinn replied.”How do you feel during that time?”

“I feel happy while watching the series”, a smile appeared on Jinn’s face and she unknowingly brought out the reason for her suffering.

Jaeyi smiled a bit, “Now listen to me. I have the solution to all your problems. Listen carefully if you don’t want this all to continue!”, Jaeyi said excitedly.

“What is it unni?”, Jiemin was more curious.

“This is what both of you should practice. It is not that you are in middle school anymore and you have to complete only your homework. You will have to make yourself prepared for the start of your life”, she stressed more and was looking towards both the girls. Both the girls were listening with full attention. Gobbling a bite, she continued, “Life will come to you as you make it. If you neglect , it will neglect you, If you embrace life, it will embrace you and protect you”, she saw both the girls from the edge of her eyes. They were still listening with full attention. Jaeyi gave a cute smile, “Smile a lot. Watching your favorite series brings you happiness. Similarly your smile will bring happiness- to you and to everyone who will get a smile from you!”

“Making one person smile can change the world, your world, the world for that person”.

Jinn got the solution to her regular whinings.
