There was a playground, swimming pool, gym, and basketball court, as part of the clubhouse of the society where Jimin lived with his grandparents.
Jimin was a studious and decent schoolboy. He loved playing various games with his friends. Be it Basketball game
Or Cricket match
He loved to play all the sports. He would encourage his friends also to play a different sport each day.
“Hey let’s play Ludo today!”, Jimin would suggest.
They would agree sometimes but sometimes they would want to play outdoors and Jimin would agree with that.
It took some time for Jimin to realize that he needed a new game. “These all games we play almost daily”. He started thinking of how can he explore his curiosity. “I think we can play a different game”.
It was this day that at his school Jimin found a platform for his curiosity when their Computer teacher stated “Students, today we will start with a new and interesting chapter”, the computer teacher introduced them all to a programming language ‘Scratch’.
Scratch opened up an opportunity for Jimin to highlight his key skills and explore his creative computational thinking.
He showed his complete interest and attention in learning the blocks of code in Scratch. “Madam, when should I use
Set pen color and when should I use
change pen color blocks?”.
Jimin would get his queries cleared and his teacher would be happy to make him learn more. Jimin gradually developed computational fluency.
Jimin learned to draw and use different characters, move the character, give them voice n make them do a variety of tasks. This made him bring his new game into existence.
He worked for days with intense dedication and came up with an indoor game.
“Yippee, it is working out fully”, he happily exclaimed to his friends and took him all to his house to show how it can be played.
During their school event of “Talent Hunt”, Jimin displayed his creation. He won the special prize for showing interest in learning ahead of the syllabus. When asked about his creativity, he would reply “Imagination is the foundation of innovation”.
