In a village, there lived two friends Minnie and Monie.Minnie was the only son to his wealthy family and Monie was from a large family. Both studied in same school and both were good friends. They spent their time together while playing, eating and studying.
After completing school, they had to go to different colleges as Monie could not afford a private college where the fees and the facilities was high.
After graduation, Minnie took over his family business and Monie took up a small job.As they grew up, their responsibilities increased, to work, take care of family needs, it was not possible for both of them to spend time with each other like in school days.
One day Minnie got to know that Monie was very ill. He cancelled few of his meetings of that day and went to see Monie at his house.
After enquiring about his condition, did not stay there for long. He took out some money from his pocket and handing it to Monie said “Get well soon friend. Call me when you need”, and left.
Monie wished his friend could stay by his side a little longer. He recovered from illness after about a month. He then worked hard and arranged the money to return it to Minnie.
Only a few days had passed that Minnie then had fallen ill. When Monie got to know about it, he immediately left his work and went to Minnie and stayed with him. He served his ill friend with all his dedication.
Monie would recall all the moments they had spent during their school time and they would rejoice. Because of his positive action, Minnie got well sooner.
This behavior of Monie made Minnie realize what he had done. He was filled with guilt.
One day he went to Minnie’s house and apologized to him for his actions and said, “Friend! When you were ill, I had come to give you money. But when I fell ill, you stayed with me, took care of me in every way. I am very ashamed of my actions. Forgive me.”
Monie hugged Minnie and said, “I did not mean to make you feel so my friend. I am glad that you are fine now and that we can spend time together.” Money is not important in friendship, but love and care for each other matters.
When we feel more positive emotions than negative ones, difficult situations are easier to handle.
