The Hungry Mouse

Life on this earth is full of hurdles and pitfalls No doubt there are certain situations when we have to take up decisions at the spur of the moment. But such situations arise only rarely. In such a situation to it is wise to think first and then act. Success comes to those who plan and then plunge into action. Hasty actions should be avoided.

Once a mouse was very hungry. He had no food for quiet a long time and he grew very thin.

At last the mouse found a basket, full of corn. There was a small hole in the basket, and he crept in. He could just get through the hole.

Then he began to eat the corn. Being very hungry, he ate a great deal and went on eating and eating.

He had grown very fat before he felt that he had had enough.

When the mouse tried to climb out of the basket, he could not. He was too fat to pass through the hole.

” How shall I climb out?” said the mouse. “oh, how shall I climb out?” he cried.
Just then a cat came along and he heard the mouse.

“Mouse,” said the cat, “if you want to climb out of the basket, you must wait till you have grown as thin as you were when you went in.”

Moral of the story: Look before you leap.
