Active Joon
There was a boy named Joon, who provided help happily to his family, friends and neighbours who needed a helping hand. He was so always busy that sometimes he couldn’t even change his clothes after school. He ate in haste. He slept as less as 6 hours daily. He held his notes incomplete in the urge to help everyone.
He would get a call the moment he was in bed, “Joonie! Can you come here?”. When he returned from school,”Joon, Can you help me fix this?”.
One day, he saw a mango tree on the way to his neighbourhood. He had helped a girl to yarn a muffler, a vendor to pack his order and had fixed a passerby’s flat tire. He was hungry and wanted to eat for energy. He wanted to eat some mangoes, but he was too tired today to climb the tree and take the fruits. So he lay down underneath the tree and waited for the fruits to fall off. Joon waited until dark but the mangoes never fell. He realised his mistake and returned home where his mother was waiting for him with delicious food. He explained her what had happened. With her calm, a smile on her lips, Joon’s mother explained to him, “It is commendable to help others Joonie. Helping others is noble, but it should never come at the expense of your own well-being”. She rubbed his back to soothe him.
Moral of the story:
You cannot be a beacon for others if your own light is dimmed. Prioritize your health to truly make a difference.
Cheers to another year, to your health and happiness, to many more happy days ahead. May your birthday be as beautiful as your heart. Thank you for being a light in our lives.
