Do Not Chew More Than You Can Bite

It was a lovely clear day when the clouds poured just enough rain down that made a Frog happy to sit close to a wet patch of land.

The frog was very happy as it was appreciated by its fellow frogs to have lovely big green eyes, that he could sing well “Croack, Croack!!”. The frog thought highly of itself ” I can even leap around and catch a dozen flies and I am crowned the best singer here..”.

The Frog was lost in the excitement of his praises when an Elephant was approaching. The Frog tried to tell the Elephant,”Stop here huge animal, Listen to my music, Look at my broad green eyes and tell me, Can you sing as well as me? Can your eyes be green?”

The Elephant swung his head, from side to side and drove a fly around its neck. It did not hear the
croaks of the frog.
“What does the elephant think of itself? It did not even look at me!”, the frog told itself.
The Frog said still loudly,” I am crowned the greatest singer by the frogs and I am ready to sing for you, right now. What do you say?”
The Elephant did not get it, this time either. The frog got angry and started to breath high. It puffed and huffed drawing in breath. It was still very small when compared to the Elephant. “ I must try a little harder”, signed the frog and puffed his breath even more. It’s eyes bulged out and it’s body looked like a bloated balloon. It could puff no more in.

The frog did not stop here, “I must not give up. The Elephant is too proud of its size. I must show him that I can grow as big, if not bigger.”
The frog tried hard to take in more air but it burst like a pricked balloon. That was the end of the frog. The frog tried to do something beyond its limit in arrogance. It had bitten more than it could chew.

Moral of the story: Know your strength and weaknesses. Do not exceed your limit of comfort.

In terms, it means, cut your coat according to your cloth. This is a great saying to tell you to cut down your expenses according
to your earnings.
