There once lived a boy named Minie. He was the only child of his parents. So his parents were very fond of him. This led them to be pampering him more. He got each and everything he asked for.

“Mom, this is not the pencil I needed. Get me other one”, Minie literally shouted from his study table as his mother was in kitchen preparing dinner. She smiled, came over and handed him a different pencil of his choice, from a pack of pencils. Brushing his hair with her fingers she said, “Study well my Minie” and went back to kitchen.

While in a mall the last weekend, “Dad!! I have seen this on TV, they kids were playing with it so happily. I too want one”, Minie said as he pointed towards a robotic superhero toy. His father gladly bought one for him, though it cost him nearly half of their month’s income. He got each and everything he asked for, be it a pencil or a huge expensive toy and in turn Minie became a less tolerant, arrogant boy, who always threw tantrums. It was time when his parents realized that this kind of behavior would not lead Minie to a healthy life. It was a concern for them to make him learn to deal with this frustration which he can gain over time. They had a discussion together one day and decided to make Minie more responsible as a person.

They took him out as a day’s trip and outing. Minie was excited to visit this new place. In his imagination, he was sure he is visiting an adventure base. “Mom! I know where you are taking me! I had told you about the new adventure base opened at out city! You are taking me there mom dad!”They reached outskirts of the city and stopped there car at a place called “Meet meat”. “Here we are!” , Minie jumped off the car in excitement. He turned round and round to have a look at the place. “I can tel my friends about this whole place”, Minie was boosting.He saw they were at a hiily area, with greenery all around.

He examined the place and saw no visitors there, so his excitement withered a bit. It smelt awful. His smile gradually turned to a sad face. “Mom!! Why is it so stinking here?” Minie’s mother replied, “Its a different place than a usual one we visit Minie. You are gonna spend your day here”. “What am I gonna do here, there seem no visitors..!”, Minie protested. “nor your mom and dad!”, his mother continued his sentence. “What?? “, Minie was in a state of shock! His mother convinced him by saying that his teacher and classmates want you to be disciplined and behave well with all around you. “Stay here till we are back and behave!” , his mother warned him and left with his dad.Minie stood there looking at the car with his parents leaving him.

He was recieved by a person named Moni. Moni was a swineherd and the caretaker of a pigsty. The pigsty was a small room with outdoor enclosure for raising the domestic pigs as livestock. It was a fenced area of bare dirt and mud. “Come on child! Cheer up..! Each day is an adventure, so live it as it comes and win every hustle in this adventurous trip”, Moni encouraged Minie.Minie silently moved with Moni and spent the day with him, observing what Moni does.

He saw that Moni’s job requires to perform the following duties.Distributing food to pigs, Observing them for signs of illness and giving medication when necessary, Performing facility maintenance, Checking for proper ventilation and temperature conditions of the pigsty and the most difficult part for Minie was coordinating with waste removal Looking at Moni, taking so much care of the pig Minie realized the importance of showing care and love to every being.He was almost in tears when he saw Moni happily helping each pig in being better.By the end of the day Minie had realised few valuable life lessons. We must not hesitate when you should act and perform our duty. Good things don’t come easy.
