Once after a rain of 3 days, the sun came out of the clouds to give a bright sunny day. A Grasshopper was happy to come out of his house. He was singing merrily. Then he saw an Ant working hard to collect food, the grasshopper said, “Why do you work so hard? Bright days are for fun, relaxation and enjoyment. Come let us sing and play”. But Ant said, “I am collecting food for the next rainy days and I recommend you to do the same.”

Grasshopper said, “We have got plenty of food at present here all around. Why bother about collecting it ?”. The Ant ignored him and went on its way,carrying food in it’s trolley.

The grasshopper ate, slept, played out and went home only at night to sleep, everyday. When rainy season came, it rained so the grasshopper could not come out of his house. He had no food to eat. He searched at home his kitchen, his refrigerator and shelves but alas, nothing to eat. Days passed and he had had no food. He started crying.

Listening to his cry, the ant sensed something is wrong and made it ti reach his house. The ant asked “why are you crying?”. The grasshopper told the ant about his hunger.The ant took him to his house. And made him sit on the dining table. Variety of food was served. The grasshopper looked around and saw there was plenty of food all around in the kitchen, in the fridge, on the shelves, on the dining table and was surprised.

The ant said, “When I worked hard, you enjoyed so this is what we work hard for. To save for a rainy day”.Then grasshopper learned his lesson.

Moral of the story: Work hard so you can get the benefits when in need
