Two Friends:The Monkey And The Tortoise

In a jungle, there lived a monkey and a tortoise who were good friends. They would play together on the banks of a river. One day while they were heading towards the river, the tortoise saw that monkey could not move fast. He asked his friend, “Hey friend, why are you moving like me today? “. The monkey replied in a low tone, “I am not feeling well today. My stomach is aching so I cannot jump from one branch to another”. “Don’t worry friend, I will take you to the river. Sit on my back”, said the tortoise. The monkey sat on his back, the tortoise took the monkey to the river. On the banks of the river were many trees with lots of fruits on them. But since the monkey could not climb the trees, the tortoise requested a parrot on a tree to give his friend some fruits to eat. The parrot thought of a plan. He threw some fruits down. But all were very sour. The monkey got very angry as the parrot was keeping ripe fruits for himself and giving him sour fruits. He jumped on a branch of the tree, plucked some ripe fruits. Both the friends ate the ripe fruits. The parrot then smiled and said, “Dear monkey, sorry for making you climb up the tree when you are unwell. But it was just to make yourself strong and fight your sickness”. The monkey and tortoise realized the parrot’s good intentions and thanked him for the same.
