Treat everyone equally

Meera was a joyous young girl who lived with her mother Shila. She had lost her father to an unexpected incident. Meera and her mother struggled a lot to meet their daily needs.

They worked in the house of a rich family. In the rich family, there was a girl named Reeta. She was brought up with all luxurious facilities.

One day, Reeta was having lunch at home. She was served the best food by her chef.

Meera happened to pass by the dining hall and she just stood there for a moment looking at Reeta. For that Reeta said, ” Hey poor girl! Why are you looking at me like this?”. Meera felt guilty for being there at lunchtime.”Do you want to have food?”, Meera continued ” When I leave from here you can have the remains”.And then she started laughing arrogantly.

“Ha ha ha”, and she left from there. The poor girl was hungry though. So she asked the helper to provide her with the remaining food from Reeta’s plate. She started eating it happily.

A sage was passing by and he saw what just happened at the house of the rich family.

The sage was a miraculous person who could perform unexpected events to become true. The sage chanted and punished the rich girl for her illl treatment towards the poor girl.

He punished that the rich girl should become poor, and the poor girl must become rich. Because of this, the poor woman Shila thought that Reeta was her daughter and then took her to their small house. Reeta had to stay at the small house and do the household works there. Sleep on a ragged bed and then eat a very simple meal.

Reeta felt uncomfortable and approached the sage to ask for forgiveness. She said, “Oh holy man! I now understand the problems of poor people. I am really sorry.”. And then the sage said, “Don’t tell sorry to me, you must say sorry to the girl”.

And from that day Reeta and Meera became friends.

Moral: We have to treat everyone equally in our life.
