In a jungle, one summer afternoon a deer was very thirsty. He went towards a nearby water stream to quench his thirst. While he was about to reach out to the water, he saw a wild boar too which was on its way to the water stream.
Due to the small pathway to the water stream that there was less space for only one animal to go ahead. They started to quarrel about who would go first to drink water, as both were very thirsty.
A few moments later, they could see a few vultures come flying and sat on nearby rocks. Both deer and boar understood that the vultures are waiting for them to quarrel, have a fight, and lose the battle. So that the vulture could feast on it. So both looked at each other and decided to have an agreement. The deer being the eldest agreed to send the boar first ahead. The boar drank to his stomach and will. Returned back.
Then the deer went ahead to the water stream and drank the water to his will. This is how both could easily solve the problem without hurting each other, by an agreement.
Moral of the story: When you quarrel, someone else gains.
Where two people fight over something, the third person who exploits circumstances gains immediate advantage rather than being guided by consistent principles or plans.
